Steve, Celia and Daughters - Music for a Summer's Evening
Music for a Summer’s Evening
6.00 pm | Sunday 28 June 2026
for Steve in support of Brainstorm Charity
Steve, Celia and their two daughters have organised a special fundraising brass band concert in aid of Brainstorm Charity, whose mission is “to fight and hopefully cure brain cancer in all its forms through dedicated research.”
Set in the garden of The Nut Tree Inn, Murcott, OX5 2RE — the pub and restaurant owned by their younger daughter and her partner — the evening promises a relaxed programme of popular show tunes and well-loved classics.
Why Brainstorm?
In February 2026, Steve was diagnosed with a glioblastoma at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, under the care of Mr V Apostolopoulos. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment with Dr J Brock and the oncology team at the Churchill Hospital.
Music has been an important part of Steve’s life since childhood. He has played in brass bands for many years, both in the Salvation Army and elsewhere, making this concert a particularly meaningful way to raise fundsfor brain tumour research.
Led by Chris Andrews, Musical Director of Chinnor Band, the concert will feature musicians from Chinnor Band, the Salvation Army and other bands, including family members and close friends of Steve.
Please come along and join us for a summer evening of music and support Steve in helping the Brainstorm Charity continue its vital work in advancing brain tumour research.
